4-the-Kids Fundraising
Jacob & Jillian Swartz both grew up in Grass Valley, Nevada County. Both of their families were heavily involved in youth activities in the community however, in different capacities.
Jacob’s father was a member of Rotary and helped spearhead numerous projects throughout his years. Just a few of these include building the baseball fields by the county buildings, organizing the Duck Races to generate proceeds for all the Nevada County Schools, revitalizing the little league fields at Condon Park & building the amphitheater at 7 Hills school. Jacob’s mother started her volunteering in her college years spending time as a Big Sister with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters group mentoring and guiding younger kids. She was a member of the Reno Jr. League for 10 years where she spent time teaching kids about various disabilities through puppet shows. Additionally, she has always volunteered at her kids’ schools and been involved in Parent Clubs to help raise money to fund school activities.
Jillian’s parents were also involved with the youth of their community through their church. Jillian’s mother was the choir director for both the Children’s Choir & the Teen Choir, which gave the kids in the parish a consistent way to come together as a group. In their earlier years, her parents volunteered as House Parents for a youth group-home acting as counselors, encouragers, and security for troubled youth. After that, they hosted several women (some with children already) who were in crisis pregnancy situations. Jillian’s parents established a non-profit which put on concerts to provide scholarships for children attending Mt. St. Mary Academy that could not otherwise afford the tuition.
With strongly influential upbringings for both Jacob & Jillian, they decided NOW is the time to get more involved with the community. Drawing on personal connection and experience through friends and family, they came up with an idea to launch a project that brought similar minded individuals together for the kids of their community. Recognizing the need for continuing support of the youth, they decided on a plan to partner with charitable organizations and groups already impacting kids. The desire of 4-the-Kids Fundraising is to help reach a larger audience to make kid-focused projects succeed.
